  1. I think Zelda was one of the games that influenced me the most to learn how to develop my own games, so I love indie games in that same style. You created a great list here bro, congrats!

  2. All I want is a top down co-op link to the past clone…I don't want this roguelike stuff, Don't want crazy enemies or teleporting drifters, a bearded lady….just a link to the past I can play with a friend. It's not a hard ask…but it's been TOUGH to find. Bout to try Rogue Heroes.

  3. Hyper Light Drifter… Yuck. I started playing, didn't understand the story, didn't know what to do, and when I finally came to a boss I died, and died, and died and died. Did I say that I died? A lot.

I got tired of dying and retrying. So after a hundred attempts or so I gave up and unistalled it. That's what's so fun with challenging games.

  4. You did a great job making this. The very first game (Oceanhorn) was the exact game I was trying to figure out when I searched for indie games like Zelda.

  5. Hyper light drifter sucks. You can never relax as soon as enemies appear on the screen. The difficulty ramps up waaay too fast. And that's where Nintendo's Zelda series can't be beat, perfectly balanced. Hyper light drifter is like Zelda and Doom 2016 combined.

  6. The most influential Zelda clone for me, as a PC-only gamer was always Blood Omen: Legacy of Kain.

I am always looking for games that will evoke the same feelings of both discover and dread that came with that game. Gothic 2D games seem to be coming back in vogue, and there's a whole bunch of titles I'm looking forward to in the near future, but I do wish it didn't take 20+ years for them to come back in style.

If you know of any similar games out right now, I'd love to hear about them!

  7. Finally a video that ACTUALLY HAS GAMES SIMILAR TO ZELDA!!! I'm so sick of all these videos of so-called "Zelda-like" games that includes stuff like Stardew Valley, Super Mario Odyssey, and Assassin's Creed. These games have nothing in similar to Zelda but some people continue to make lists of obviously popular games which clearly takes no effort. This person has thankfully compiled an actual list of true Zelda-like games, bravo!
